Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Flutists Lindsay Leach
earned her Bachelor and Master degrees from the Peabody
Conservatory studying with Laurie Sokoloff. In 2004, she became
the first person to graduate in the Piccolo Performance program
at Peabody and shortly thereafter enrolled in the Royal Academy
of Music in London, UK studying modern flute with Clare
Southworth, early flutes with Lisa Beznosiuk, and piccolo with
Patricia Morris. She finished her European studies at the 2005
Académie International d’Ete de Nice, France with Philippe
Bernold. Additionally, she has studied as a scholarship student
with Robert Langevin at the Orford Arts Centre, Orford, Canada
and Marks Sparks at the Aspen Music Festival, Aspen Colorado.

Ms. Leach joined the UNC Pembroke Flute faculty in the spring
of 2007 and the Methodist University Flute faculty in the fall of
2007. She is currently Solo Piccolo in the Fayetteville Symphony
as well as Director of Orchestras and IB/AP Music Theory at
Pinecrest High School in Southern Pines, North Carolina. Ms.
Leach has also published articles in the Dalcroze Journal of
America and the Pittsburgh Flute Club Magazine.

Lindsay has had several appearances recently including the 2008
Frank Bowen Young Artist Competition, 2007 Flute Society
Mid-South Young Artist Competition, 2006 Byron Hester and
Myrna Brown Solo Flute Competitions, 2005 Jean-Pierre Rampal
International Flute Competition, and the National Flute
Association 2004 Piccolo Artist and 2007 Baroque Artist
Competitions. In November 2007, she was selected as one of
three American flutists to compete at the first ever Maxence
Larrieu International Flute Competition in Nice, France.
